In Full Bloom

The doublefile viburnum—Viburnum 'Mariesii'—has been blooming for about 10 days. The horizontal branches produce tiers of white lacecap-like flowers that look like clumps of snow from a distance. This big beefy plant can reach 6 to 8 feet tall and 5 to 7 feet wide and although it produces few fruit, it has a pale yellow fall color and good winter form.
